And looked like a ton of fun actually!
In my local area we have been over run with feral hogs. They will destroy crops but more devastating is what they do in the river swamp, rooting up everything in their path causing unnatural erosion and competing with native wildlife for resources. It has also been said by wildlife officers that the pigs eat the eggs of wild turkeys and various turtles.

I don't care how they get killed. The pigs need to be brought in check, don't think they will ever get rid of them completely.

That in no way could ever be considered hunting. Yes feral pigs are a huge problem across the south and should be taken out by any means necessary, but releasing caged animals just to mow them down with a mini-gun is chicken-shit as far as I'm concerned. Pest control is not the motive of these guys, or they would not be taking the chance of some of the released pigs escaping back into the wild.

FWIW, the hogs were driven, as they do deer and fox drives, via ATV's chasing a herd of maybe 50 hogs across the property. When they busted out in the open, they were cannon fodder. It's not really hunting, I agree. It's hog eradication with a flair for the dramatic.

This little piggy got a hundred bullets.....LOL!!!!!!!

Completely different than trapping them and letting them run for freedom only to mow them down with a machine gun. Reminds me of a POW running through a rice paddy while being shot in the back.

They're pigs, not humans.

Just a few rednecks with too much firepower(which they didn't properly employ,by the way) having a little bit of what they consider fun. Don't get all emotional on us, it's not an Oliver Stone picture.

I don't really give a shit how they get killed, as long as they are killed.

At the current growth rate, to keep the Feral Hog population in check, %60 of their population must be killed EVERY YEAR just to keep the population from growing! Even then, they would still be ruining HUGE crop fields, exterminating natural resources, and destroying native wildlife.

Don't be ignorant. Use some scientific facts to get your shit straight, not your emotions. This is a real F**king problem that shouldn't be taking lightly. WHO GIVES A SHIT HOW THEY ARE KILLED.

I have no more remorse for these things than I do for those carp being shot and gutted then thrown on the bank to die in the Gatku video. They are a nuisance and need to be taken care of due to the distruction they cause.

Great example! It's okay to do this with fish, but not with hogs?

No need to be hypocrites guys.

Precisely.

It reminds me of the whole cetacean killing practices in places like Norway... We kill farm swine and they are incredibly intelligent - en par w/ a dolphin... ( I know this will generate some dissenting opinion... )

Re: Texas hog hunting....... taking it up a notch!

I hunt hogs year round here in Fl. I do understand that the hogs need to be put into check. But that video sure as hell leaves a bad taste in everyones mouth. Its true, peta gets ahold of that and takes off. We already had a huge issue here in Florida with the catch dogs. Couple of buddies onf mine got cased up for so called baiting dogs with hogs. It was bullshit and they walked, but they spent alot of money on legal and alot of sweatin and stress becuase of it. For those of you that have that amount of hogs in your area that you can afford to do that, instead, grabs some young kids and take them out and teach them how to hunt them and dress them and also the value of their meat. That way when they reach adult hood they can help in the controling of that species too. That to me is impressing.
