| All About Pole Spears & Slings What is it about that traditional method of the early hunter/gatherers under the water? These devices are indeed interesting and effective. |

Re: MAKO's New Polespear
They just updated the site as of today I think. So check the site out now for the prices and dates. $71 is a great price for a 3 piece 7 foot pole spear.

Re: MAKO's New Polespear
hopefully you can add an additional section for there blue water spear. 7ft seems a little short, that detachable tip seems pretty interesting.

Re: MAKO's New Polespear
For what it's worth we just received our Mako pole spear by mail in the USVI and it is very nice... Certainly a great addition to the quiver!

Re: MAKO's New Polespear
Very light! So with as much anticipation as the rest of this thread, I ordered this spear on Thurs, received it on Friday, dove it today. Super fast shipping, but the p/s needs some tweeking. I wanted to test it today straight from the factory. As mentioned it's light, so the band needs upgrading. Also, a grip needs to be added to the front tube. I am pleased w/ the 5 prong tip as it held a poorly placed shot & kept my prize on the barb. Overall, it's a decent entry level spear at a great price. I'll try to report back later w/ my mods.

Re: MAKO's New Polespear
Here's my take for the day
Here's my upgrades w/ some megatex 10mm 28/64 powerbands from Luis/ lung.spearo on here. I had some leftover mono and hockey tape to add the grip. I ended up putting the grip on the longer of the remaining tubes. This way I can use it as the 4' or 6' version, viz pending. |
