I'm not on Facebook

Two different people have alerted me that someone has created a fake profile for me on Facebook. I think I can almost guarantee that its one of three fans of mine who engage in that sort of gutless stuff, but then that's life.

Anyway, its not me. Someone gave me a link to report the profile and get it deleted, but it looks as if I'd have to join Facebook to do that. Is that true?

That's too bad Bill. Not sure the thinking behind your 'fans', but, this is a federal offense. I'd report their butts to the FBI. They probably believe they are smart enough not to leave "fingerprints". They're not.

I try not to be, but a scum bag seems to want me on there.

Anyway, a friend helped me find a link where a non-member can complain about a person impersonating him. Its a PIA- you have to submit the url and a screenshot of the fake page, a scanned color photo of a government issued ID, etc., but I think I got it done. They say it can take up to 72 hours.

That friend tells me that the profile includes all sorts of photos of me and my friends with fish, but he could find nothing that wasn't available from Spearboard if someone was willing to take the trouble. I guess someone was.

My best guess for the asshole who would go to the trouble to do this happens to know that I'm going in for major surgery tomorrow, so he probably figured this was a good time since I might not hear about it and be able to do anything for quite a while.

Oh well, even if I was successful in getting the profile deleted, at least he'll have the satisfaction of knowing that he made me waste a few hours rather than attending to last minute details before I go to the hospital, and I'm sure that will make him feel pretty good.

Who ever did this is a compete kook! Bills a stand up guy and one of the nicest guys I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. People are pathetic. Good luck with your surgery anything you need just holler!

Good luck with the surgery Bill my dad had the same one last week. He is doing good. You will be just fine.
