Pole Spear grip
Here is a grip i made for my ab biller pole spear. I put a light wrap of aluminum foil around the spear first. Then in a cup i put 1600# spectra(just for diameter, not strength) and put some epoxy and moved the spectra around until evenly coated. I then wrapped the spectra around the foil portion of the spear. I let the epoxy cure almost completely. Then i carefully unraveled the spectra and foil, being sure it retains its shape. Then i separated the spectra and foil and re-wrapped the spectra on the fiberglass of the spear. Then i used self amalgamating tape in an opposing direction if the spectra. last i did another wrap of the self amalgamating tape down the same direction of the spectra wrap. total cost of materials: 14 dollars and some odd cents. Self amalgamating tape: 3M 2228 Moisture sealing electrical tape
Hope this helps some people. If not, id like some feedback. Thank, chris |

Re: Pole Spear grip
Glad it helps. Its fairly straight foward. I ve read that someone used copper wire too. It only took about 10-15 minutes to make plus the cure time for the epoxy. I used 5 minute loctite
Thanks for your feedback, Chris |

Re: Pole Spear grip
Looks nice. I did something similar to this. I taped off the pole accordingly and sprayed spray adhesive where I wanted to wrap the string. Let the adhesive tack up and wrapped the string. It stuck where I wanted it well. Then taped over that. Maybe save a little mess without using the epoxy.
