Ab/Scallop bar Auction for Monty

Hey guys, I'd like to offer up one of my custom pry bars to help out the McIntire family. Dustin and his company GatKu has always been a huge supporter of the California spearfishing community, and now, more than ever is the time to repay the favor any way we can.

The auction is for my standard 16" X 2" X 3/8" thick aluminum pry bar, perfect for abalone and scallops (I'm sure you've seen these before) customized with your choice of etching on the front (I'm saving the back for my own little note). No size limit on the "customization". If you like, I'll cover the whole surface in names, phone numbers, or clever little pictures. The choice is yours if you're the winning bid. 100% of your donation goes to the "Monty Fund", and I'll gladly cover the shipping and (if applicable) any PayPal fees. I'll hand the cash directly to Dustin if need be (to avoid any skim from 3rd party entities).

Opening bid is $100 and I'll close the auction on May 13th at midnight.

Not always, but I have my moments.

In 2009 my Mom was diagnosed, and treated for bladder cancer. They removed her bladder and a lot of other female parts in her abdominal region. She went through about 14 weeks of chemotherapy. So far, so good, but post-surgery complications still exist. Last year my Dad had a small malignant tumor removed from inside his bladder, and as of late he's doing fine. That pretty much makes me genetically predisposed as a strong candidate for potential bladder cancer. I can relate to what the McIntire's are dealing with, but it hurts even more when it's a small child that has to go through this kind of treatment. It's brutal, but Monty's a tough little kid. I hope that one day we can all go diving together and I have the honor of watching him kill some fish on a single breath of air....

Thanks brother. I think Craig wanted a replacement (his was the 6th bar I ever made back in '08) but he's been too busy killing huge tuna lately...

They're bitchin looking bars that I've been trying to convince myself to spend the money on since I first saw them. Of course this is more than what you usually charge but, What better reason than helping Monty. I'm trying to come up with my own idea that would help Monty and family out but so far im drawing a blank, so I figure a sizeable donation and bid on something bitchin thats also helping the little guy out. In this case the Bitchin item is your ab/scallop bar. I just wish I can do more to help the kid.

That's awesome Chip, and thanks again.
Maybe I should end the auction on the 18th instead.
That way you have your bar before the Big Ab-Big Ling tournament?

Re: Ab/Scallop bar Auction for Monty

No prob Gianni.
I'll need to put you in touch with Tino to make sure your donation gets to the right people without a lot of skim off the top. I think it's Dustin's church, but I'll double check.

At $150 bid for an abalone pry bar, I'm thinking I should just end it on May the 13th at midnight (unless someone else wants to ball-up and bid more..... )
