Gopro Corrupt Video files

Went diving on Thursday took 2 dives worth and some great video of my buddy catching a shark h/l; got home to check it out and all the files appeared to be corrupt and I can view any of them. Any ideas on how to fix this if it’s even possible?

cant fix bad files but i bet your SD card is bad...it is likely a bad brand or a rip off of a good brand...

Ive had pretty good luck with recovering corrupted data files like this. If you want, you can mail the card to me and ill see if can work my magic on it and get the files readable again. Pm me if you are interested.

Generous offer there Tony , I paid $$$ for data recovery on a crashed hard drive this year.

Yeah I understand what its like making an effort to film all day long, only to have nothing working right. White I do offer this type of service locally and mostly just do hard drive data recovery, it does take a long time and can be costly. For a fellow spearo, I would gladly do what I could to help out sans payment.

If it is a bad SD card there are programs that help recover everything on it. i have CardRecovery. It recovered everything off a SD card i had go bad, some of the photos had partial coruption, but that was better then nothing.

Re: Gopro Corrupt Video files

If you can get it from the SD card, to the computer, try transferring it from the computer back to another (known good) SD card. At least on PCs, as long as you're using Windows 2003 and up, when you transfer to/from removable memory it runs an auto-check/repair. I've had two videos come up as "corrupt or incomplete" files and the above worked for me each time.

Re: Gopro Corrupt Video files

Just an FYI for someone searching the forums. I used this last night to recover a large video (3 gigs) that was corrupt.
