need help finding some professional underwater videographers/cinimatographers
I have to complete an internship my school requires to graduate, we are supposed to find an internship that has to do with a potential career and i have been wanting to do something with underwater videography since i was 7. If anyone knows of anyone or has any useful contacts for me that would be greatly appreciated, im having trouble finding people. Also any other suggestions of possible internships for someone who wants to work around the ocean would be nice, but my dream is to intern with someone who films underwater professionally. Any help is greatly appreciated. thanks.

Ben Bateman
Get a hold of Fishkilla if he's not offshore. He may be able to point you in the right direction.
Do a search for Fishkilla, and get his profile and contact information. Jason

Try hooking up with D.J. Roller and the folks at Liquid Pictures. They are there in the Atlanta area, so perhaps close to you. They are currently filming episodes for The History Channel series "Deep Sea Detectives"

Back when..
...I was doing my masters degree at FIU I met a guy named Mitch Skaggs. He was a customer at a archery pro shop that I used to manage on Tamiami Trail called Bow and Arrow Sales and Service. Mitch used to be the owner of H2O Scuba in North Miami Beach. Mitch is a underwater cinematographer and the founder of TDI (Technical Diving Instruction). He currently works with Al Giddings who is also a famous UW cinematographer. Mitch and Al shot one of the first IMAX 3-D films in the Galapagos Islands documenting the spawning habits of hammerhead sharks there. Since that time (around 1998-99) I have lost touch with him but you may be able to contact him through one of the centers of TDI. I believe there are around 50 with the main one being in Maine somewhere. Mitch is a avid spearfishierman and all around outdoorsman. I mounted a caribou for him that he took in Canada's NW Territory as a guest of a ESPN outdoors show he is also involved in. He was a hell of a nice guy and quite enthusiastic about anything having to do with the outdoors. If you manage to contact him I am sure he would also be able to give you some leads on where to concentrate your efforts. Good Luck in your search and I hope this helps some. Happy Hunting!!
