Saturday 4/5
NOAA blew the forecast, but we managed 22kts out to EF for 1 18#gag and 1 8# genuine.Out to HL for another 18# gag and 4 genuines to 10#.Dive #2 was long to survey new bottom had a 12 min. hang to watch the 30' organic layer on top and get stung by little jelly parts.Temps were 68 on top and up to 71 on the bottom .Vis was 10'~ in the organic soup and 40' in dusk like conditions under the muck layer.Dive three was weak no shootable fish on a published ledge/live bottom. Not seen were cobia and only 1 flounder.Trip in was 30 kts and plans were made for more dives off-offshore.Fish were not chewin' well again ,tried every thing from live cigars and 4" mini-b-liners to mackeral and pinfish.Had one asshole throw up a dive flag as we got close to a spot ,there we no divers on the boat he had it up to keep away other boats .We let him know what an asshole he was and were tempted to dive there as he was actually not on the spot but his GPS must have told him he was.We saw a La. boat drifting by him every 10 minutes trying to bottom fish culverts.Figured they eserved each other and left.Lotsa real divers out,so we're headed deeper to avoid the summer knucklehead derby inshore.
