Re: PC Open???

I'd guess we're on a "wait and see" approach to it. Once it gets closer and we have a better idea of how bad and where, the Tyndall guys can make a call. It just too early yet. At least Jim Cantore is in Pensacola and not here, its never a good sign when that dude shows up outside your window.

We are still on for now, I spoke with the Marina club manger today and he said there is a chance that we can reschedule if necessary. But again for now we are on!!!

Re: PC Open???

The Tyndall marina took some pretty heavy damage, the public launch is gone again just like Ivan. All of the new finger piers on the right side were destroyed the left side every other one is gone. I went into our dive locker which is located about 30-40 yards from the basin and the water had rose to at least 15 inches in there. Pretty heavy storm surge! I will speak to the manager in the morning, I think rescheduling for August would be a good idea.
I took a bunch of pictures, if someone lets me know how to post them i will.

Re: PC Open???

I'm going to go ahead and cancel motel reservations...we were planning on diving out of Carrabelle area and as seen in other posts this area got hit hard...large portions of US 98 are closed...Indian Pass is shut down...

Thanks again for the updates, let us know if we can try again in August.

(PMG, every cloud has a silver lining?)

Re: PC Open???

I have camping reservation on ST George Island, no idea if the park is or will be open, or if we can even get to it. So far all I get is a busy signal, the phone lines may be down. Or they're just tying up the line dealing with their problems, dunno.

I'm willing to go & dive anyway, without the tourney. But questions remain on whether the park will be open, if Grayson will be able to dive, and so on. Gonna need some of those answers pretty soon so we can make decisions.

Hope no one got hurt down there. Property damage can always be fixed, people sometimes not.

Re: PC Open???

Looks like I'm SOL. St George Island state park (where we were going to camp) is closed until 12/01/2005.

Re: PC Open???

Did not think I was going to be able to dive in this one but my ear should be healed up by mid August! At least something good might come from this storm for me.
