Video | Hernando Beach | New Camera... Paralenz

Eric shared the details in the viz thread, I'll only add that the whale snot is in warm water. Get out to blue colder water and you'll avoid it until we're all smothered in it. This was my last dives in a wetsuit for the beginning of this season.

These were also my first dives with a new dive camera. Here's a thread I started about it... Paralenz Dive Camera.

Here's the video. Not sure how to embed. I've moved on from YouTube/Google due to their anti-US Constitution stance and am now on www.UgeTube.com

Check it out...

Good video, James. That DCC sure does work quite well. I'm still concerned with the whole battery life issue in the long run - wondering how many uses/years you can get out of it before it has to be sent back for a replacement battery.

Yeah, it's night and day. The thing about the GoPro is even if you're using a red filter, the only color being brought back is red and in shallower water is over intensified and deeper it's not enough. Plus it dulls the video as the filter also eliminates light.

With the Paralenz the full color spectrum is being added back in based on the corresponding depth.

I should point out too, that while I shot the video in 2.7K at 60fps, I used Windows Movie Maker for editing since I knew I was going to adjust the color, not realizing that Movie Maker won't allow you to output in a resolution higher than 1080p. So this video is even better than it looks. With super clean water I imagine it would look even better. My goal is to shoot good video and not have to waste time editing video. I think this camera meets those goals.

Thanks. No doubt that is my biggest concern. On a two tank day, no problem. But with all of the scouting yesterday, I counted seven drops total, that was just too long without a charge.

Long term I need to contact the company and find out about battery replacement. Perhaps like you suggested you just send it in and they replace it for you. Kind of like some dive computers. Speaking of which, I have your brother's computer.

Yes sir! A great day for sure. Hogs and goes got thunderstruck and the Washington Capitals got hit by the Lightning. Good weekend.

I have USB chargers wired in on my boat console. So charging during surface time is no big deal. Even the GoPro4 batteries get eaten up so I'm usually doing that anyways.

Hey the color does look great, and no fiddling around with video editing...

I love it when hogs think they're hiding from you. ".....don't see me don't see me don't see me don't see me....."
