ok,here,s my full report.first i will say that my new gun is awesome.bob and bryan drove over from orlando and met me in homosassa sunday morning.i didnt know these 2 guys but they have been lurking on the other forum for some time and grabbed my e mail from there and we hooked up.anyway we headed down the river to the gulf and did the 30 ml run to the first spot.bob and bryan went to the left at the anchor and i went to the right.i missed some shots and did manage a few hog nose and a mango, and one red grouper.bob and brian braught up a mixed bag of gags,go,s and a couple hogs.they both had full stringers.ran 4 mls to the second spot and there was a boat anchored up,hook and lining.didnt want to be an ass so we ran some more to another spot that i havent dove in about a year.i got us anchored up and we went down.the place was loaded with hogs.by now i was getting better with my gun.we got our limit on hogs on this dive.no monsters but they all eat the same.we went back to the spot where the hook and liner,s were and they were gone.i,ve never dove this spot, just bottom fished it,so i didnt know what to expect.we geared up went down ant there was nice gags every where, but they were hard to get close enouf for a shot.i did manage two decent gags.i forgot to mention on the first divebob got 2 nice gos.a 4 and 5 pounder.these were big goes for local shootin.i wes gettin a bit concerned that he was gonna kik my ass today.now back to the 3rd spot.there was big hognose all over the place but we already had our limit.here comes the goes.the biggest one i,ve ever seen in local waters.i took my shot and strung him up.he probable went atleast 6 lbs maybe 7.got some more nice mangos in the 3,4lb range.lost a couple nice gags also.bryan didnt get enough so he went back down and shot a few more fish.total for the day was 15 hogs 11 gos and 13 grouper and bob shot a big flounder, but i,ll let him tell that story.hey bryan and bob.you guys were a great crew and you can shoot with me anytime.now get off your ass get to the computer and register so you guys can post.jay, bob took pictures but he will have to post them on here cause i dont know how.yes we will have to do some slingin soon....this is capt dave with a big gun and goin down

Dave, thanks for the report. Looking forward to shooting in your waters soon. What was the average depth of your dives?

Thanks for the kick in the ass ... I'm now registered....and yes I've been a lurking whore for on both the FS Forum and this mac daddy spearboard.com for a while now.

Diving off of Homassasa in 40-51 feet of water is a nice change from the usual 90-100 out of the Cape. Gotta love that extended bottom time!!

I'll give Wahoo Too (Bob) a call to remind him to post the pics. Overall we had a great day of shooting with lot's of fish. It was a good practice round before I head out to the MG's. I don't know if the cooler weather has brought the fish in closer or what but the bottom was alive with fish. I'm a little tired today after 4 dives but it's a great feeling man.

Thanks for an awesome day of shooting... I think I need another practice round before our Nov. 1-3 trip.

I 'am the one that is willing to give up my seat for that run . Got these BUS tics and sure would like to go . They are VIP with a bus ride ,tail gate party and a night in a resort for FREE some other shit too but if no one takes my seat on the NOV 1-3 trip then I will be in the GROUNDS any way and it won't matter
DON"T EVEN THINK IT YOU GUYS BECOUSE IF I GO TO THE M.G.
MY WIFE IS TAKING HER GIRL FRIEND!!

Now is a great time to do the GROUNDS if any of you would like the chance send a e- mail and its done

PS you would be real lucky to get a seat till after x-mas

Dabull Trouble! Great report and THANKS FOR A GREAT TRIP on Saturday! It was a pleasure to dive with someone who knows what they're doing and loves spearfishing as much as Merk and I . I'm pumped that we've started meeting fellow spear slayers on this forum!

Merk and I both had a great time and the huntin' was excellent!!! Got home around 11pm and was sore as all hell yesterday (I'm smiling when I say that because it meant it was a great trip). Still can't believe that you trumped me with that gigantic 'go! I thought I had you with a 5 - 6 lber until you brought up that monster.

I sunk my teeth into that 7 lb flounder last night for dinner. TASTY!!!!!

Just to brag on Dabull Trouble a bit. I saw him line up with his new big boy gun on a hognose from about 15 feet and stoned him dead!!!! Very impressive. Puts my 48" to shame with the range you're getting. Great shooting! Looks like that new gun will be tuned in before your trip to the MG. Thanks again and I can't wait to get out there again and slay 'em with you!!!

Dave - I'll try to get some pictures from the trip posted here today. I tried to attach one to this reply. I'll see how it works.

hey wahoo glad you guys had a good time.glad you also registered for this forum, you can get a ton of info off of here.we have to get merc (brian) a new name.i know he can come up with something to do with fishing or diving.dont brag on me to much about the new gun.i missed a lot of shots on the first dive.if you noticed i only came up with 3 fish and you guys both had full stringers.yes those were some nice goes.gonna go again on saturday.you got a spot if you want it.i think merc is gonna go also.if you cant go just let me know as soon as you know so i can try to get one more person or maybe 2.if you have trouble posting pictures e mail scott or capt jay on this forum or put a post up and they will tell you how.i dont have a clue how to do it.thats why i dont post pictures of any of my trips.i knoow there,s probably some non believers out there about the big goes so the pics wont lie.i also ate some of the goes last night.blackened on the grill, man it was almost better than eatin pussy..capt dave with a big gun and goin down

dabulltrouble - I'm working with Scott to figure out which Server I can dump the pictures onto so people can refer to them and check them out. Hopefully we'll have them ready in a day or so. Hang in there. The huge go's proof is in the Pictures!!!!

I definitely want to go this weekend but might be stuck at the house . I'll let you know by tomorrow so you can line up a few others instead. I know Merk wants to go!

Hey Dave, Glad to hear about your great trip and new gun!!I knew when Joe and I were up there you were thinking about gettin' a new gun. Glad you did and glad it's working out! Give me a call and come on down when you get a chance, or let me know if you have an opening on the boat. Can't make this weekend. Going out in the morning I'll let you know how it goes. Dan
