3 prong Halibut

Who says you need a gun to stick a halibut.
Got this last night friday with my 4 ft 3 prong while I was diving bugs. Only 30 in, but good enough to eat.
Kinda cheating though getin um at night. They just sit there.

Man, I've done that twice now, and it sure is a hell of a ride/fight. Awesome catch!

Why is that butt missing a chunk of his tail? Did you try to catch him with your teeth like I do sometimes?

Joe,

Nice Fish!
Now if you can just put an ice pick tip on the pole spear and shoot a fat yellowtail...now that would be a trophy!
The tail is torn up a little, I shot two up here last year that had big shark bite marks on their backs

Hey Joe,

How about a little fun bet? You are MUCH younger and in MUCH MUCH better shape than me (better looking too) not to mention you can dive circles around me but I have probably a lttle bit better water (enchanted Islands) to hunt than you. So......1st wsb taken with a pole spear wins a ???? Who wants to join? What should the prize be?
Tommy

Thumbs up Re: 3 prong Halibut

Hey Pilot, nice halibut!

I grew up in California. How did you have a 3-prong pole spear while hunting bugs?

It's legal...just can't use it on the bugs or use it to co-hurse the bugs outa their lairs.
