Prop Shop - Tampa, St Pete, Clearwater

I need a new set of props for my boat. I think the 22" Mercury Mirage's will do the trick. Anyone have a contact at a prop shop? Any recommendations? Anyone happen to have a set of props for sale?

I am currently turning (came with the boat) 20" OMC Rakers, and at full throttle loaded I am getting 6200 RPM's.

You might want to check Ebay motors(props). Someone listed a lot of props this morning. Prices weren't bad.

John a 21" may be right for your boat, if you go to 22" your WOT should drop to 5800, and I think the E Techs WOT is 6000 rpm.

I think you are better off with a boat that is slightly under propped versus slightly over propped.

I bought an Apollo prop it has the XHS, I think it was $240 plus the hub, so it ended up being less than $300, I don't think they make it in a 22" though.

So far it seems to be a great prop, although I haven't put many hours on it yet.

Call Iboats.com 1 800 718-1233 see what they have.

5800 RPM is top on the ETEC. I was going to try a 21 and a 22, and see what was better.

I assumed it was 6000 rpm, like my Evinrude.

The Apollo prop does not come in a 22".

I have a right hand 21" powertech prop you could try, you would have to find a 21" left hand prop to go with it.

John Davenport over at Boat & Motor Superstores may let you try various props. I know they have a pretty good selection.

Won't those motors pull Bravo props? My Suzukis pull them with no sweat.

I am sure they will. I have borrowed Jason's 22" Bravos for Friday. As you know, your gear ratio is different from mine, so you can turn 24's. End of the day, I have several Benjamins say I beat your ass in a race.

Sounds like a challenge. Pink slips?

sounds to me like your over revving your motors and usin more fuel then you need to !!! you can call admiral-c&b props in tampa, tell them what you have and they can tell you what you need to do! they maybe able to repitch your props saving you the coin of buying another set!i had to replace my inboard engine this year and had to repitch my prop as new engine had more ponies and i was over twisting my new engine & wasting fuel bigtime!!! give them a call also, just FYI,i send my prop out thru boaters world since i can't get over to tampa during the week when they are open, they are closed weekends !

Riski,

You might be able to go 1" +/- on a stainless prop, but you can't get 2 inches, and they don't guarantee it.

For what it would cost to rebuild the props and repitch them he has versus buying 2 new ones, he is better off buying new ones.

I know I need new props hence the purpose of this post.

I borrowed a set of Mercury BravoII 22" props for tomorrow. Hopefully, they do the trick.

Why not test them out on a MG run?? Oh wait...that's the plan right. Got Flo-Scans

Have a good trip. How did you escape on a Friday anyway? Building done??

I have a set of 21" Mirage's or Rapture's at the boat (don't remember which are the 19's) They both run good on my boat, depends on the weight and seas. Your welcome to try out my 21's if the 22's aren't what your looking for.
