aimrite/wong 130 cm carbon railgun pix--hope this works

Followup to my previous thread, here are some pictures of my new toy. I ended up not having a chance to dive with it since my kids wanted to sightsee the last two days in Oahu. But man, oh man, it's nice. I'd sleep with it if my wife would let me.

One of the pix is shot in front of a door for comparison purpose. The other is a close-up of the handle area. I got 4 shafts so 2 are rigged so they would be clipped to the gun, and 2 are rigged as break-away. Unlike my pre-modified Esclapez, everything on the stock Aimrite seems tight and crisp (at least on land).

The critical test will be in the ocean when this weather lets up here in northern CA. I have some old 2L soda pop bottles that I plan to fill with a little sand and let suspend from my float for target shooting.

I own also a Rob Allen 110 (love it too), a Wong Ono (my absolute favorite for versatile yellowtails/WSB/bluewater), an Esclapez 120 (highly modified--now retired by the new Aimrite railgun) and a stock Esclapez 70 for those hole shots. A Mori canon for the rare tuna trip (which regrettably has not produced so far--operator's problem, gun's absolutely perfect).

If I have to rank them (strictly personal opinion based on MY guns, based on MY criteria for quality/use/cost/feel, which may not be representative), Mori's gun is a Ferrari, Wong/Aimrite are Porsches, Rob Allen is a solid Toyota, and Esclapez are Hyundai.

This is my first time posting pics so suggestions/inputs on picture taking and posting will be appreciated.

Rick can custom make any of the Railguns in sizes up to 130cm. The biggest size available on the website is 125cm, any bigger then you need to contact him at (808) 330-1197 for pricing.

Joe's gun is a custom made carbon Fiber model, that boasts a 1/8th" wall thickness and the barrel is 50" long (61" overall length) and is strong enough to pick up your truck with!! And if that wasn't enough, it also has a lifetime warranty. Sweet lookng gun, and I can't wait for Joe to put it to action soon! Rick and I are taking a 130cm Carbon Fiber Railgun with us to Fiji as well as Daryl's 65" Magnum Hybrid. We aint going there to shoot small fish...

Sorry to jump in on here Joe! Couldn't help myself since Rick's away on Navy Bidness...

The normal magnum hybrids only go up to 60". He is trying some longer ones, and I believe they have a thicker carbon fiber tube, as a sort of quicker swinging version of an ono gun.

If I ever went where there were tuna, I'd be tempted to try one. Its a bit long for my tastes for SoCal, but I know one guy who got one as his white sea bass gun.

I'm just jealous that I'm not going to Fiji this year or any time soon for that matter. Man, rough life.
