I really should have listened to you guys.......

I took the lie detector test http://www.spearboard.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28305
Because my mom said it would make things easier. You all told me not to take it.
I took it and failed!!!
I swear to God I didn't lie. I can't believe it. I had strong reservations about taking the test because of fear of a false positive, but I convinced myself that I was being irrational. Apparently I wasn't.
Oh well............F-em....

Re: I really should have listened to you guys.......

Now you understand why they are not admissable in court.

My advice is not to talk to the Detectives or the Police anymore, all you will do is possibly hurt yourself.

The police may now think you did it, it doesen't amtter to them if you are innocent, if they think you are guilty, and can come up with just enough evidence to arrest you, they will, do not give them anymore information.

If you are arrested, and then go to court, even if you are found not guilty, you will have the arrest on your record for life, you will have to disclose it to all future prospective employers.

Politely and respectfully decline to speak to the police about this matter any more, unless in the presence and guidance of an attorney.

I didn't see your original thread as I was out of town until Monday night.
My wife is a labor defense attorney. While she doesn't know it off the top of her head as she hasn't had to deal with polygraphs much, there is a Florida statute dealing with the use of a polygraph by an employer. You might want to do an online search to see what you come up with.
Google "Florida statutes" and then use the search function when you get to the right page.

I think it was the Sheriff or local Police Dept. that administered the polygraph.

Maybe he Sharted himself, and that caused the false positve.

Seriously Paul, do not talk to the Police and I would start looking for a job, because now your boss will have a little bit of doubt in you, and you don't want to work in an enviroment where the guy doesn't trust you.

I am certain you did not do it, but your boss will always have a little doubt.

From the way I heard the story, either the newer guy did it, or the boss or his wife lost it, even if they do find it, they will never admit it.

Paul,

You really didn't fail. The test was inconclusive, but because it was administered by someone who is paying them for results, it was biased to be 'interpreted' to fail you in order to get you to squeal. Either that or the administrator didn't know shit.

Ya should have known when to sphincter and not to sphincter. I believe you dude. Those things are totally bogus, even the Military instructors said that it was a bogus "tool".

Man that sucks. That just sucks. Did anyone else have to take the test? Did anyone else fail/ get inconclusive results? Did the owner take the test? Once again man that just sucks.

Re: I really should have listened to you guys.......

sorry to hear that. I would figure if you were relaxed you should have passed although just being in that position would make anyone nervous. on the other hand if they are like that then it is probably a good thing to not be working for people that cant trust you. just like a marriage if there is no trust then you shouldnt be together.
