st. aug. 6-24

thermocline still there in full force. we dove 125-100-and 60 ft with 79 on the surface and bottom from 68-71. the vis ranged 6-35ft. the visibility can change from just a few miles away so i think it can change day to day as far as vis and location. but the thermocline seems to be the bottom 1/3 of water with lots of jellyfish on top of it and all kinds of junk on the bottom. i think paul was going today so maybe he'll give a jax report.

Way to be, seabeast - y'all spanked my ass. Very similar conditions, we didn't dive as deep, though. Glad to see Ed made it out! If you don't mind, & can think of it, please tell him I lost his phone #. That's why I haven't called to go spearin'. I NEED to hook up with my Jax. brothers! Sweet cooler - fish & bloody ice - gotta love it!

NICE haul. Good to see you guys getting past the thermo and bring in some fish. We went trolling the roll down on the big boat Sunday and got 4 gaffer Dolphin. We found a 37 foot wall off St Aug. that went from 165 down to 202 feet vertical. Man that thing was loaded with bottom fish (on the machine). Maybe thats where we should be diving.

Glad you guys did well,I hope NOAA is wrong for Saturday. It looks like the thermocline is slowly dissipating.Just hope to have some lighter winds than forcasted.
