Todays Dives
Boy, I wish I had a job like the weather forecasters! What was supposed to be southeast at 5 to ten when I left this morning turned out to be alot closer to 20 from the south. I guess it's nice not to have to be right. How many of us would still have jobs if we were as consistently wrong as they are. Anyway, sixty feet deep off Pinellas, top to bottom vis, with 40 ft. horizontal. Some hogs and mangoes. Nothing large, but legal. A couple of slippers for me, which pissed off my dive partner Joe. Some Spanish on the way out trolling bait pods, but lost two smokers right at the boat. Seas were 2 to 3 with definite 4 plus waves as the day went on! Oh well we made it back, and nothing broken up too bad. A little rough on the 21 footer. Looking forward to Hooters tomorrow. I took the day off to be there to meet all of you. Stay safe. Dan

I guess we can only expect it to be worse by the weekend,huh? I was planning on diving Sat.,but that front is gonna be in full swing by then, damn!!! This will make three weeks without gettin' wet...dlock's gettin' ANGRY!!!!!!!!!
 I did go fishing with my daughter weekend before last,but I need to get wet and sling some steel!!!!!!!!! Hope to see you at Hooters Dan

the cold front should be pushed down here, by the latest the weekend. the only good thing comming out of it is good surf. so if your not surfing, its gonna be rough. i personally dont have a boat that can battle the waves, so ill be surfing.

hey 201,
the weekend forecast is not looking good for waves. but i just called surfing world(wed. 9:30 a.m.) they said its rideable already and the noaa forecast is looking good for later today (4'-6'). i will be working today until early afternoon but if you check it up there i would appreciate a first hand report posted here. thanks |
