Thumbs up Vis / Temp Report 7/10/03 Ponce Inlet

Went out on the Sea Dog Diver boat this morning. Left the dock around 9 AM. First stop was the Samarca wreck. The ocean was flat and it was hot topside. Couldn't have asked for better weather. Downstairs is another story. Water was pretty clear above the thermo and temp top of thermo was 79 degrees. Thermo was at about 20 - 25 fsw and turned to 65 degrees on the bottom. Visability was about 35-40 feet. If it wasn't for the cold water, it would of been a perfect dive, but no fish. I had a shot on a nice snapper, prob weighting in at 10 lbs, but band broke and shot was no good.

Second stop was the Argoil wreck. Almost ditto on the vis and temp. We saw a giant stingray (I was looking for any cobs that would be around, but no such luck). Bait fish everywhere, got a few flounder like always, but nothing else. Had 4 shooters on the boat not including myself.

All in all it was a good day, I came home alive and got to have some fun!

Paul
