Aquasport 29 tournament?
Looking into what seems a good deal on a Aquasport 29' tournament....24 mile radar,220 hours, 5.7 Merc, gps plotter, 25" lcd, on trailer.......for 15,900
I have never owned a boat for saltwater...only a couple Ranger bass boats, and one 23' cruiser for lake stuff......I like the layout of the boat, nice cabin size, room on the stern deck for fish boxes(has one already), W/A for the wife to lay out, it won't kill me on fuel. Give me some feedback.....no trailer included....I will probably have one made by a buddy...it sounds like a great starting price....

Re: Aquasport 29 tournament?
$15,900? Yeah that does sound like a deal. Aquasport makes a solid boat. I'd encourage you to have the motor checked by a mechanic. Just remember, the motor is about half the cost of the overall boat. In the past, I've made the mistake of closely studying the hull and not giving enough attention to the motor. Good luck.

Re: Aquasport 29 tournament?
For what its worth, I have an '85 Aquasport w/a, solid as a rock. Not the dryest ride, but we're out there to get wet anyways, right?? LOL Good price, but ditto on the mechanical checkout... spend the $ and have a marine survey done... wiring, hull, mechanicals, etc... its worth every dime!!

Re: Aquasport 29 tournament?
Howdy,
I would have a look at it with you. Now that I own the boat in the avatar, I know what I should have looked for when getting a boat for spearing. Little things that mount up, and not necessarily problems, just reason I wouldn't have purchased this boat if I had known (things like fishboxes too close to scuppers, low center of gravity in the water, etc). Although, I have had no real maintenance issues other than keeping it clean and dry, and washing the motor when I get salt water in the bilge. There was someone on the board that was/is a professional marine surveyor. Send me a PM if interested. Later, rtp
