newbie

hi im new to board. looking for some where i can do a shore dive from. i live in lakeland fl. moved here from ny. need to spear some fish. please someone just point me in teh right direction. i'll take it from there thanks..

Welcome, I don't know many good beach dive spots near me hopefully someone from further south will chime in. Commercial pier? I've herd that said before. Rick

Florida is abit harder to spear from shore than in the NE. There is little rock structure close to shore here and most spearing is done via boat. There are a few exceptions I remember people talking about but none that I have any experience with.

Vero Beach is ok. the problem is finding a day when the water is clear. I've dove it when I had fifty foot of vis. Then two feet the whole moth later. Real hit or miss.

thanks guys. i,m a little confused because i found this site for parks and it said you can dive on a couple of them. http://www.visitflorida.com/cms/d/ft...ea_beaches.php
if you look down the line in the state parks alot of them say scuba. thanks again
