does anyone know of any other good custom freedive spearfishing suit manufacturers besides MAREA and ELIOS. looking for one that might have a websight that is easier to navigate, preferably made in the U.S.

Re: custom wetsuits

Check Bluewater Hunters in Santa Barbara. They have someone who makes what I beleive is called Deep Thought wetsuits. I have one but can't remember if that is the exact name. Nice suits. never where mine because it is a 7mm and I really don't need that much rubber down here in the Carribean.
Fits perfect though.

Re: custom wetsuits

1. m & b wetsuits, www.seaurchin.org long beach (?) ca

2. jmj wetsuits, www.jmjwetsuits.com torrance, ca

3. deep thought westsuits, www.blueh20.com santa barbara, ca.

i own one m&b suit, and one deep thought wetsuit, and like them both. a couple of my dive buddies own a jmj suit and like them as well. you'll end up paying at least twice as much more than those wetsuits from greece, but if you ever have a problem with them, at least you don't have to ship them internationally to have the problem fixed.

Re: custom wetsuits

I'm on my third JMJ suit and have been happy with them. But of course I have an advantage over you in that I was able to drive up there, let them measure me, and then go try it on when it was ready in case it needed adjustments. All the companies that Tom mentioned are in SoCal, so you wouldn't be able to do that.

I think I'm going to glue some ACUs over top of my regular wetsuit and add some blue digi squares...I'll let you know how it turns out!!

That's what you would have to do if you wanted to look cute in a JMJ suit. I should have mentioned that unlike the other two companies mentioned by Tom, they don't do camo. Its either black or green.

Cute? I don't know Bill, I was going more for the "hooah underwater killer" look, but who knows, maybe cute works too!

Re: custom wetsuits

Notanx,

One of my dive buddies cuts his own picasso suit. He swears by the Picasso glue. On our last dive he tore a BIG HOLE in his suit and fixed it in 5 minutes. I have not seen a better fitting suit than Brian24's suit. Maybe he can give some insight to help you out.

Cheers,

Erik
