Lobster Record?

I've been looking for this info for a while, and no one seem to be able to come up with it.

What is the record for our old buddy, Panulirus interruptus, the California Spiny Lobster?

Anyone?

Anyone?

DFG Says.....

The DFG keeps records (of those that submit) and they state that there is reports of lobster over 26 pounds and 3 feet in length:

There realy isn't anything more specific that I can find. The East coast keeps great records and can even give exact weights in pounds and ounces. Guess us Californians are just so anxious to get our photos with it and get it in boiling water that we don't think about things like this.

I posted this question last year, anyone have a definative answer yet? (Ideally, with a photo? I can't believe anyone would catch a 26 pounder and not take a pic!)

I remember you asking this question last year, and we all waited in anticipation for the largest spiny pic. I'm going to do a little more research on this subject....By the way, I saw a bug that was as big as a dog last season, and it was just out of reach.

Is anyone have a party after the lobster opener this year?

Scroll up a hair. I have never seen any bigger. Don't know what they weigh, but they look pretty big to me.

Last year, I was down in a boulder field, saw antenna sticking out. Dove down, got a hand on it, and realized it was the biggest fricken' bug I'd ever seen. It was so big I couldn't close my grip on it's back. It flexed it's tail 3 times, smacking me into the rock, the third time, I felt it slipping loose. I shoved my other hand in, to try and get a hold of something, but it was no go, and away it went.

Next time.

Hopefully PTJ will get it. Hook Em' Horns. He has a Longhorn Univ of TX tank on his avatar. I went to TX A&M- slogan is Gig Em' Aggies. Guess it's a TX thing, you wouldn't understand HL.
