Wanna dive?

I am headed to LAX in the morning to drop someone off. Since I am headed in the direction and am basically there. I was thinking of heading to PV for a dive. I can be there early, like 8:00-9:00 a.m. or maybe even a little earlier.
I really do not feel like diving alone... So if someone wants to join me PM me. I have a few good areas that we can decide from...

Re: Wanna dive?

Looks like I missed you by one day. Sorry. I was in L.A. and staying at PV this week. But my work wraps up today and I'm headed back north.
You really should get in the water. The temps are up and viz was good. You might be able to find some quality singles still cruising around. And you can grab some bugs while you're there.
Looking forward to your report.

Re: Wanna dive?

I dive more often than you think, but you do not know about it because I do not post every dive.
I have dove solo before and am used to it, but I prefer not to. Miguel, my buddie that was supposed to meet us last time is going to join me on Sunday. So if you would like to join us, you are more than welcome. Just give me a ring...

Oh, and I got my gun back today! So it is game on for tomorrow and Sunday. No more of that polespear BS. (no offense polespear people, but I suck with it).

Re: Wanna dive?

Do you really think that you'll be diving alone at PV on a weekend? With the crowd in the water there, it'll be tough to stealth a nice seabass. Good luck, though, and report back.
I got a report from a buddy who was able to get out this morning. End result, near limit of bugs to 5 lbs.

Don't worry I will be diving it alone. I have some really good seabass spots that I almost never see any spearos at. They are not acessable by shore, only by a long swim or a kayak. I will be making the long swim...

Re: Wanna dive?

Well I went there this morning... Malaga cove looked pretty brown. Point Vicente looked pretty good. However, I went to the other side of PV to a spot I like and found out thet there is some sort of Running Marathon going down. So there is no parking allowed anywhere. Therefore, I could not get to the diving spot and was SOL. Had no choic but to drive back home.
The race is not happening on Sunday so that should be a go for sure. Be back with a real report tomorrow.

Re: Wanna dive?

The fog just broke enough to check out some local spots(1:00pm). It appears that the low tide has things pretty well stirred up on the inside. Probably not worth the gas to come over here. Might be OK on tomorrow mornings high tide??? The race was today only.

Good luck!

Re: Wanna dive?

I went to a few spots and could not see the water, due to the heavy fog. So I do not know how stirried up it is. Malaga was not foggy and the water looked pretty brown. I am probably gonna head there again tomorrow.

Re: Wanna dive?

Surfline has a cam for Haggerty's and Malaga. It is worth taking a look at to see how much swell is hitting before you make the trip.
