I love reggae as well, I like cocoa tea, burning spear, jah far I, jr gong.
it was the way the rastas are true to their spirituality that got me listening to the christian genre, casting crowns, jeremy camp, kutless. you can love god and be cool too.

country, country rock and older rock...every time I try to listen to "rock" radio or MTV2 now it turns out to be a bunch of guys in women's pants singing like women.

Also, let me edit to say that I'll listen to most anything once or twice and I like a lot more than what I said above, the SUBLIME post reminded me that I listened to it almost non-stop this past summer.

Re: favorite genres of music/singers or groups

I like it all, from classical to the newest stuff. Some of my favorite modern bands are Tool, System of a Down. I really like the early Punk (real punk, not this Blink sh*t) T.S.O.L, Dead Kennedys, (old) Bad Religion, etc... Like some Hip-hop(rap) Fugees and de La Soul being my favorite. Love Reggae,, Favorite bands being, Steel Pulse, Black Uhuru, and Third World. Third World gets my vote for best lyrics with Steel Pulse being best for musical style and sound. I love good Techno, Lords of Acid is the schiznit!!!

Ironhead - Nice tip of the hat to Burning Spear. Blues, Rock, Reggae, Punk, Metal - anything with a guitar. And don't forget Country...real country like Haggard, Jennings, Nelson, Jones, Cash, Paycheck, and so on. Me and Merle have the same birthday too.

Metal- early Metal!! Maiden, Priest, Metallica (pre-Black Album, "kill 'em all" is the best; Harvester of Sorrow- my all-time favorite song ) I also like the "real" country that KJ referred to.
