Harbor seals

Was diving today and a harbor seal came out from under a ledge and scared the bejeezus out of me. It then proceeded to follow Sebastien and I around as we went about our business, grabbed his fins a few times and I think he got F'ed by a seal again

Apparenly, those little guys have claws on their fins too. It grabbed my calf as I was under a ledge and those little claws are kinda sharp.

The little guy was pretty cool though. I was hunting real shallow(5 feet and less) in rockpiles with eelgrass looking for cabezon(saw a few but couldn't get them b/c the surge would push me away from where it lay) and the waves were generally pretty small. Once in a while a larger set would come through. About 2 waves before the larger set, the seal would come into my view and then make a break for open water, as if to tell me that bigger waves were coming.

I've now revised my opinion of pinnipeds. Harbor seals are perfectly fine in my book, but sea lions can still kiss my yellow ass and catch domoic acid poisoning.

Re: Harbor seals

Seal lions aren't a problem, unless they are hiv positive....

I thought that was your quote not Ernest Hemingways. You sounded like Caine from Kung Fu. Just walking the planet saying "deep" stuff.
