Siesta Key

theres an area in siesta key called point of rocks,its an incredible reef, it looks like something from the islands or something, ive done some snook fishing there but ive never gone diving it,i was wondering if anybody has heard of it and if there is anything on it worthwhile?

There used to be some good fish there before the red tide outbreak awhile back. Havn't seen much there since though. Was a decent spot to shoot sheepshead and mangrove snapper.

yeah thats all i thought would be there, was there anything better before the kill..., flouder,grouper?...hopefully when the beaches clean up ill be able to go in between the fronts

Was choppy and murky out that way yesterday. But its a nice little reef. I have seen big cobia and some sheepshead, but never saw a big enough grouper on it. Usually snook and sometimes big jack cravalle and tarpon in the summer. Its a cool snorkeling spot. They are renourishing the beach just to the South of that reef. So it may be very murky there for a while.
