Found Gun

A H&L friend of mine found a gun floating 9 mi WNW of Anclote Key on 1/15/07. He wants a $25 finder fee but I'm sure the owner will want to pay that....Haven't seen any posts looking for it so I don't think he's a member of SB but if anyone knows who it belongs to PM me...Gun's been customized a bit so only the owner could describe it..
I'll give it a week or so then I'm going to buy it and cut it down and make a small ledge gun out of it...

Re: Found Gun

Put a yellow butt on the gun. Spear One makes them for SS and Biller guns. They are not expensive. Then write your name and phone # in permanent marker on the flat bottom side. Makes for easy I.D. of ownership. Also, your buddy can spot you easier underwater in low vis conditions.

He said a Hook and Line guy found it, I think whoever lost it is lucky the fisherman didn't use it for firewood.

Re: Found Gun

I, too, would be more than happy to pay to get my gun back; fact, I'd volutarily give more than that if someone had just given it back. I was thinking it was weird to blatantly say... "Nah, nah, na boo-boo...I got your gggguuunnnn. Gimme cash and you can have it back"....

But the guy isn't a spearo, so.... I suppose that makes a difference.

Re: Found Gun

I lost my 75 aspic last time out in TB... Had it stuck in the sand while trying to find my comp that I had knocked off the boat (using it to mark an area) and the current uprooted it and I blew thru a tank trying to find it... I loved that gun...

Most people who lose something of value would gladly pay a "finders fee", be it cash, beer, gas, a fat spliff, whatever.

To ask for it says something about a person. Your friend is a tool.

Re: Found Gun

Yea I told him he was a greedy old bastard...He never thought about trying to find the owner. He was just going to sell in a garage sale if I didn't want to buy it. I'm the only spearo he knows. Just figured I'd put it out there. I can't believe nobodys claimed it yet. If not I'm sure I'll have no trouble unloading it, I've had 15 PM's. I've got enough guns and I don't really care for the muzzle on the Biller.
