Superbowl Game

Well, the Colts offense got a workout, the Bears defense got a workout, and I have got to tell you, what bad filming by the NFL. In the age that we live in, I have never in recent years seen a game that was filmed and none of the camera crew would wipe off the lens when it got rain on it. What seemed even worse was them panning from an interior camera to an external one so you could really see the difference. It was painstaking to watch this in HD. Other than that, any other thoughts? Oh yea, who was the brainiac that booked "Prince" for halftime? We watched almost 2 minutes before switching over to the "puppy bowl" on Animal Planet.

Re: Superbowl Game

I was thinking the same thing about the camera work...someones head may roll on Monday morning...or maybe they were trying to give us the "effects" of being there??? What a joke...

Glad the Colts got what they've been after!!!

The problem I had was with half time who the **** decided to have Michael Jackson up there with a guitar?

Re: Superbowl Game

The game was pretty good until the Colts built a lead past the 16-14 point. After that I knew the Bears D was winded and they would be mostly ineffective throughout the game unless the offense could give them a rest, which it couldn't. Rex Grossman was beyond horrid. A performance like that deserves, I dunno... hari kari. The camera lense thing was pretty awful. I didn't pay that much money to watch the Super Bowl in HD only to have smudge marks and droplets on 80% of the shots. Don't the cameras have guards/shields surrounding the lense except on the bottom?

That halftime show made my skin crawl. Prince!?!??!?! I guess Michael Jackson and the Village people were booked.

I knew that the AFC championship game would be the game of the year (again), and it was.

Whaddya think Vandy? Franchise Freeny and be balls strapped to the cap for next season, or let him go? I think he's replaceable. He is great indoors, but outside he's just another undersized speed rusher.

Marvin Harrison is looking really old too, he's great and all, but I can see that what happened to Jimmy Smith is starting to happen to him. He's got another season, maybe.

I didn't think we could replace Freeney, but the money may be an issue (again). Brock and Mathis are pretty studly and some of the young back-ups are doing well. Still, Freeney's value goes beyond sacks IMO.

Harrison has a couple more years, but he is not what he was and has been pouty at times. Still, until we get a third option he is the best #2 out there.

I am excited about the draft but I am gonna let this one soak in a bit.

Re: Superbowl Game

great game, but i was dissapointed in the commercials, what the hell, does no one but go daddy(which even that wasn't super great) know how to put a superbowl commerical together? I guess the 64,000 a sec adds really drained their finances to be able to put a great commercial together

Harrison has also been playing with a hurt hand/thumb that he refuses to talk about. I remember seeing him clutch it and grimace after some catches he made in like week 14 or 15. He still played through the pain and never bitched a bit b/c he is truely one of the greatest of all time. Your 3rd option is Brandon Stokely dude, and whomever you draft.

I wouldn't get too excited about the draft, you'll be 32nd overall and you don't have a 2nd rounder (Booger McFarland trade). You deserve to let this one soak in a bit, yay yay happy joy joy for you and the Colts. Go AFC South baby.

Quotes I have seen in print were $72K and $78K per SECOND to run a commercial on a superbowl slot. The bud commercials were ok, everything else blew.

What a letdown, my first superbowl in HD. I think I know where to put an application in today if I want to run a camera.

Could you imagine being in his shoes, thinking about what to expect when their flight lands back in Chicago? Better yet, thinking about next season?

It's almost like they just didn't care.

We both know that you were not only singing along in your head, but knew all the words, and was worried about your buddies spotting you humming them.

Re: Superbowl Game

Snooze fest.

I found myself going to get more food & beer during the play so that I didn't miss any good commercials or nipple slips...but, again, a let down.

My only hope was that Manning would lose. Couldn't care less about the Bears, but PM has become a little too much of a whiner lately.

I couldn't imagine being in Grossmans shoes, at all. There are at least 6-8 teams in the AFC that are better than the entire NFC. Pretty much all the good young QB's are in the AFC too. The Bears were not 'Super' in any way. After halftime, it looked like men playing against boys.

Where was all this Super badass defense!?!? Where was super badass Brian Urlacher and all this awesome defense. If being proficient at stripping the ball makes your defense great, well, I don't agree. That's all their D did well. They almost gave up 200 rushing yards and were picked apart in the passing game, by the end of the game they were being gashed to peices by Addai and Rhodes. Again I say, where was badass Urlacher... he was too busy being winded and overrated, that's where he was. He is so totally not a Hall of Fame caliber linebacker.

I read that the CBS camera team tried frantically to wipe and rewipe the lenses. Still, unexcusable. You can't put a splash shield around that thing... come on.

The only Prince songs I can sing along to are off of Diamonds and Pearls, big boy . I've never actually heard the song 'Purple Rain'.
