Sat. report...Paddy hopping out of Dana

I met Stodelle and Rick Dawg early Sat. morning in Dana Point. We loaded the boat and headed out to the 209, which is 25 miles outside Dana towards San Clemente Island. Ocean was a little bumpy in the morning with some big swells but nothing the little whaler couldnt handle.
The visability changed at every kelp paddy was stopped on. We found about 6 paddies, and a few bait balls that we jumped in to take a look.
One paddy had about 4 nice yellowtail under it and Rick was the first to get up close to take a shot. He ended up with a nice 25# Yellowtail. Pics will come soon.
That was the only paddy we found that had any fish.
We were back to the harbor at 1 pm. 79 total miles traveled, 25 gallons of fuel burnt.
It was a great day even though Stodelle or myself didnt get to shoot anything. Maybe next time.

Thanks for the great trip kyle and Sean. The fish ended up weighing 20lbs. We got to get out there and do this again sometime

Just listen to the old PorkChop express and take his advice on a dark and stormy night alright? When some wild eyed, 8 foot tall maniac grabs your neck and taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall and looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you, "Have you paid your dues?" You just stare that big sucker right back in the eye and you remember what old RickDawg always says at a time like that. "Have you paid your dues yet Rick? Yes sir,the check is in the mail."

Had a ball out on the "Stinky Tuna" with these guys. While I didn't get to shoot anything, I did get to stab Rick's fish. Being from San Bernardino county, it carrys more weight to say I stabbed something rather than shoot it! We went straight gangland. Rick shot him then held him down while I stabbed it, and Kyle operated the getaway vehicle. Fuh-getta-bowd-it!!!Thanks Rick and Kyle!!!
