Tilt & Trim Problem

I put the boat back in tonight and the out drive is stuck in the up position. It will not go down. Is there a manual release somewhere? The trim motor is running, and has plenty of hyd. fluid is tne resovoir. The out drive was recently serviced due to the seal around the shaft leaking. The outdrive is a Bravo 3, attached to a 6.2 MPI Mercruiser.

Yes there will be a manual release.

I am not sure where it would be, go to either the Florida sportsman web forum and go to the boating section and ask Dunk, he would know.

Or go to www.thehulltruth.com and you can find out there.

Re: Tilt & Trim Problem

I know this sounds stupid but try pushing/sitting gently on the drive while someone is holding the trim button in the down position. Steer the boat to the center. Sounds like a bubble.

Dago.

Gamble is a good all around btch. We use him for vis checks. I agree with Dago. probably a bubble. If the trim motor is running and nothing is happening its probably sucking air instead of fluid. If you can get it moving cycle it a few times and it should bleed itself.

Please don't take offense. Its great to have a free diver that can go over the side without all the "extra" stuff and tell us bubble blowers whether we should jump in or not. How's your new boat?

Re: Tilt & Trim Problem

There is no manual release on Bravo drives. This system will bleed itself as you cycle up and down. Might be frozen rams....try taking off the hoses going to the rams and let it bleed out. Seal around the shaft?? Do you mean the bellows??

Yes Sir, the seal that keeps the drive oil out of the bellows
