Sweet New Gun
Hers some picture of my new gun got from Poseidonsub ( Steve Veros). I did quite a bit of research before I got this gun, and it is perfect. 55" Teak with oil finish, three 5/8 band and 5/16 shaft. The balance and manuverability in the water is phenominal. I haven't taken it hunting yet, but I test fired it in the pool and nailed my target every time from 15ft+ with one hand!
I went to his shop and he showed me how to tie the bands for it and some of the other guns he's making. Steve is a super nice guy and makes some awesome guns at a very good price. I can't wait to shoot some fish with it. |

Re: Sweet New Gun
he makes some very nice guns, i'm ordering one of his pipeguns here in a few days. just as a side note for myself to consider, did he install the reel or was that your own after-thought? i am still in debate about having him install one ahead of time or doing it later on

Re: Sweet New Gun
i like the wood handle. does it have some kind of metal re-inforcement inside it, or is the wood strong enough by itself?

Re: Sweet New Gun
The handle does have a metal plate on the bottom, don't know the rest of the handle could be all wood. Steve put the reel on it for me he had it in stock.

the wood selection is critical for the handle, the way the grain runs makes a big difference in how strong it is, in some cases i put a dowel pin through it if i feel it's not orientated the right way. wood handles have been used in europe for some time and chairs have been made with wooden legs even longer but anything could break so i stand behind everything i make. here are some pics of handles notice the grain in the first and the pin in the second. steve
