mid handle mechanism question

i am thinking of giving it a try making my own first mid handle gun.
is there a good thread that explains the machining step by step? I did a search but there are to many results.
also, i have a mech for rear handle gun already. do i have to buy a new mech for a midhandle or can i fabricate something that will turn it into a mid handle?

thanks,

Re: mid handle mechanism question

You just need a remote trigger and pushrod. You may have to cut off some of your current trigger so it wont protrude from your gun. heres how mine is set up. Hope it helps!

deepdestroyer, that looks great! I'm building my first gun and have a couple of questions:

Where do you get a remote trigger?

It looks like the trigger handle screws and the pushrod are competing for the same space. How does that area work out?

Thanks.

I got the remote trigger and pushrod from Aimrite, but you can get them from a few other of the builders as well. I believe poseidonsub makes them also.

The handle screws do not interfere with the pushrod at all, Im not sure if you can see it in this picture but the pushrod goes directly between both screws.

Re: mid handle mechanism question

Generally a small cover plate holds the pushrod in place, I have elected to completely cover the pushrod which will also hold it in place, because I think it is more estheticly pleasing and my trigger slot and pushrod slot didnt line up perfectly!

All these pics are in a thread I started called "future blue water gun" if you want to see everything Ive done on this gun so far.
