New shipwreck - anyone heard of this vessel?

Identified a new wreck today off Boca. Its a 40-50 foot long sailboat in over 300 feet of water. Looks to have been down at least 10-15 years based on the amount of oyster growth. Took a sledge to clean off the bow and find the name: KRINGELINE. Any East Coasters hear of the S/V KRINGELINE -- perhaps a friend of a friend once owned it? I'll put the word out on Florida Sportsman as well, as I would like to learn the story behind this one...looks like she was once a pretty boat....

FWIW, the nice fish in the image is a baby toad (~50 pounder).

Very interesting Mike! The viz looks fantastic! Were you able to see the name of the home port city on the stern? The bow name looks so wel preserved, I was thinking the home port city may be there. Or maybe the stern is buried in the sand? Tony

I know that wreck........I gave the numbers to some guys who dove it on rebreathers a few months ago. Did you dive it with some guys that have a 31 jupiter??? I told them never to give out the #'s. Of course I wouldn't have minded if you had them. I have caught warsaws and blacks off that wreck. Cool to see the pics............

That be us. I didn't dive it the first time (I was driving the boat) and it didn't sound like much, but then my buddies started speculating it might be Charley's Crab. Don't worry, those numbers are definitely treated as confidential.

Oh boy Mike, if that had been Charlie's Crab - now that would have been something! As I recall, the owner of that restaurant chain was lost at sea in a big storm and completely disappeared with his wife and friends. I just looked up the history and here is a link to that tragic story plus an excerpt:

http://www.sptimes.com/StormWatch/SW.3.1.html

"The weather had been clear and calm two days earlier when Charles and Betty Muer, joined by lifelong friends George and Lynn Drummey, set sail from the Bahamas for the trip back to Florida. Now, in the early morning darkness, they were losing a desperate battle against 30-foot seas and winds of 70 miles an hour."
