Malibu report
It's been green! I've been out the last two days in a row and vis ranged from 3-8 feet at best. The inside still has a weird silt layer and red tide type situation going on. The first 100 yards of several beaches are brown and green and then blue on the outside. There are some fish in the area but nothing big. Wind is blowing hard so get some work done. Maybe next week.
I have not seen any evidence of a grunion run either and no halibut numbers to get excited about. Anybody need a house for $30m? |

Re: Malibu report
I am feeling your pain, Malibu Mike. Green, green green! Lots of particle suspension, dead birds (must be red tide) and wind.
Although, I think we had a calm Sunday night. Today looks good so far, but I am peering down from a canyon and will not know the conditions until a bit later today. Have you checked the protected east side cove of 'little' Dume (Latigo)? It seems somewhat buffered from the wind, but I have yet to paddle out there and poke around. |

Re: Malibu report
I've run across some dead birds down in Laguna and even the occasional one here in Huntington. Our vis hasn't faired any better, at least what we've been able to reach solely by shore dives, lots of green and silt.

Re: Malibu report
Latigo to LD has some really bad color I ran up to County today and the only bed that looks decent is the one between Zero's and Leo. I got my aluminum fired up today and will be hitting as soon as the color changes. The bed isnt really kickable so a kayak or aluminum is the ticket. Color is still sucking though. Maybe in a few days. I need to hitch a ride on a boat to Cat.
