My new Sexy Beast Blaster aka Sea Sniper Pro

Ok I still need to to learn how to shoot this sexy beast, but this is what Chris Chaput put together in his magical wood shop. Its about as close as you can get to sexy, in a world filled with camo neoprene. The one thing I just cannot get over is the power this gun has. Handels very nice even in thick kelp. Would have liked to pop its cherry on my last trip but the viz was a little poor for such a long shooting gun. Oh well, I guess I will just have to make another trip for yellow tail and wsb. I cannot get over how sweet this thing looks. Almost too nice to take in the water, almost.....

That's awesome, Tino. I remember playing around with those at the meet. Beautiful guns. Great buy!

Nice gun Tino! I saw that in the shop in progress. Nice to see the completed work. Did you like Heinrich line release?

Art,
I had a few problems trying to string it up the first time, but it seems to work pretty well. Not all that used to having 5 wraps of line/cable. I think I will change the cable out to mono. The range is unreal. I am sure on a clear day I will be popping big yellows that think they are a safe distance away. Very clean lines and feels just right when lining up on your target.

I'd worry a bit about changing to mono as mono can stretch. Would that screw up the amount of line that you had orginally planned on?

Re: My new Sexy Beast Blaster aka Sea Sniper Pro

I thought about that Art. I was going to add a 1/2 foot bungi loop to the piggy section. Two reasons
1) to deal with any mono stretch, and/or my ability to produce accurate lengths for shooting lines
2) so I can move the float line tuna clip connection forward and away from the pistol grip area. I also wanted to add a small thin neoprene patch to where the float line clip connected to reduce the chatter from wood to steel contact while descending and ascending.

Re: My new Sexy Beast Blaster aka Sea Sniper Pro

Good ideas Tino! Maybe attach the neoprene to the float line clip so the gun stays pretty? Also I'd make the bungie loop have spectra in it so that it isn't a breaking point in the line link.

This is true!
Tino, I was lucky enough to get my new one on fish. The only sad thing is the fish don't fight after I shot them HA!
It was nice to meet you on the trip too.

Daren,
Nice to have met you as well. I almost wish I went to the 4 band 65" after seeing your all around gun, very nice.
Way to go on your first wsb and excellent yellow tail.
