Round 2 at Catalina

Just got back from another morning trip, and the vis was a little better than last friday, just less fish. It also sucked that after we tie up at a spot, a cattle boat of bubble blowers show up and scare everything around away. Funny thing was a lot of them had guns, and I'm pretty sure I heard a shot ring out from one of them, while I was hoping something decent was still swimming around for myself. I guess he was going for perch or calico because that was pretty much all the was left once they jumped in.

Anyways I guess last friday I took big brother, so little brother decided to round up some of his friends to check us out. Little bro and 5 of his friends were scooting around on the edge of vis taunting us, when after moving away from one of us, they decide to pass right in front of me going right to left. I see little brother, I take aim ahead of him, wait for him to come and let the shaft fly. STRIKE!!! Shot lands thru the left gill plate and out under the right eye. After putting up a little more of a fight then his elder brother, I was able wrangle him(with some tips from the others) and bring him back to the boat.

All I have to say is I am SO hooked on spearfishing now. And I absolutely LOVE my gun. It weighs a lot, but with it's accuracy and low recoil, it is perfect for me. Now I don't mind so much the times I've been to PV only to swim around, see not much of anything, and then get to hike back up those hills.

The gun I'm talking about is the one I bought off of teaknsteel
http://www.spearboard.com/showthread.php?t=44222
He made it for himself, but since we are just about the same height/build it is perfect for me too.
