Re: First run

You guys have no idea how much they beat those things, unless you are in the Navy. I drive a 10 meter RHIB for the Marines and the boats we use are from the DRMO lot down is SD. I can't tell you how much time I have spent fiberglassing and hull reforming and electronic work I have done on these. Great boats once they are done, but a lot of work. Good job on getting back up in running. Those are the same boats the mammal people use for the dolphins. Nice yella' too.

Re: First run

That boat is awesome!!
How does the dive door unhook from the side of the boat?
I like that it looks like the console is more towards the bow than usual. Must create alot of room for divers and gear.
Also, what is the round thing on the floor where your feet rest? Looks like a spool?
Outstanding job on the boat!

Re: First run

Thanks for the nice comments! I hope I can squeeze one more trip out of it for the bluewater meet in two weeks.
I was wondering if the ride would be more abusive being so far forward, but it is a much better ride than the center consoles I've owned before. The round thing is a deck hatch, it has the big metal Bomar hatches you would find on a big boat. The dive door just lifts up and slides forward out of the way. The aft deck is about 6' X 14'...I'm still a long way from being finished, I just half assed everything so I could get it in the water this summer.
