SS guns ain't shit.
Well, we hear all about how badass SS guns are but I saw something today that makes them look like something only wimppy ass pussies such as G-Bag would use.My boss brought in the gun he was using like 20+ years ago. This beast has two barrels and uses a plastic cartridge the likes of which I have never seen for propulsion. It has got to be a serious collectors item. I am a total computer idiot, can anybody walk me through the steps to post pictures from a digital camera disc.If so, I will post pics of this thing.

Pretty harsh words for a reputable manufacturer. Ask yourself a couple of questions first. How long does it take to reload?
IF it is so bad ass Why doesnt everyone else use it? How about replacement parts? I have seen a couple double barrelled guns in the past but have never heard positive things. I shoot with a 48 biller, IF it ever fails me. I would replace with a SS gun in a heartbeat. As irritated as I am about your slander, I am curious and would like to see the pics. You just cant beat quality craftmanship with gadgets. Just my 2 cents. |

Seaweed -
He is joking, I thought the tongue in cheek was fairly obvious.

I recognize that critter
Sounds like a SMG double. One lineshaft, one freeshaft, used rotating barrels to bring the new shaft up into play. I think I even saw one with 4 shafts in a quad arrangement, but I never saw a quad shaft gun used.
It uses modified nail gun cartridges for power. Hell for stout gun, but cartridges tended to be in limited supply. With the heavy loads you could shoot steel ships and get significant pentration, but giving the ship the required attitude adjustment was a _bit_ out of bounds. For the serious history buffs you should try to find a Palm Beach Long Rifle or a La Jolla Long Rifle for comparison. HINT; The La Jolla Long Rifle could never be bought, but was "presented" by multiple members of The Bottom Scratchers as a rite of passage. The story of it's "manufacture" is even more interesting. Ray is a pretty rare bird
I met him when he was my Oceanography professor over 30 years ago, and still dive with him occasionally when our schedlues match. At that time there were two ways to come to his class and survive. Suit and tie, or swimsuit wet with saltwater. I usually went to class wet.
His son has dibs on the LJLR parts kit though. Another early diver to research is Big John of Thunderball fame. FT

Hey Seaweed, it was definitely all in jest. I'm real familiar with the quality of SS guns cause I shoot a 54"Commercial Rhino. It is an awesome gun that is limited only by the inexperience of the guy behind it, me.I don't think I would even get in the water with someone shooting my bosses gun.Hey Rich, I just sent you the pics,I think. If ya didn't get em let me know.Hope all you shooters have a great and safe holiday.

Hey LOB, I can't believe you had enough fashion sense to pick on up my night job as a male fashion model.I have never told anyone about it cause I was afraid of being called a wussy fag, or even worse, a Genesis wannabe. You wouldn't believe the demand there is out there for old, fat, bald guys who know how to pose. On a lighter note, when the hell are we gonna go back out and bug/spear.I promise that this time I will put something in the boat. I got lots of practice a coupla of weeks ago on the left coast with Sea Stalker.
