Cressi-Sub vs. Mares

Can anybody explain to me difference between Cressi-Sub and Mares pneumatic guns? Thea all seems the same to me. Difference in just leight wise. Also what is the difference between Cyrano and Sten? Both are from Mares and looks the same.
I have Cressi-Sub SL 70 made in Italy, with black handle instead of yellow made in USA(so Cressi told me it is not their gun). I also have A.B.Biller 52" SS. I prefer to use Cressi even it is a pain to load sometimes.
Thanks.

Re: Cressi-Sub vs. Mares

The internals are pretty much the same but the mares cyrano/stealth line has a smaller diameter piston. (11mm vs 13mm) They are designed to shoot a lighter 7mm shaft and to be faster because they are pushing less of a water column. My understanding is the 11mm piston guns have more range and speed. Personally i like the grip on the cyrano/stealth guns better.

The Sten would be comparable with the Cressis.

Also the Cressi & Mares use different butt pieces. I have owned both & both are very reliable, good guns.

Re: Cressi-Sub vs. Mares

A substantial difference in the structure is the following:
in Mares airguns, the inner barrel and the outside barrell are concentric (i.e. on the same axis), while in theh Cressi, the inner barrel is on a different axis in a higher position. As a consequence, aiming is different. Aiming with the Cressi is more similar than aiming with bandguns.

I check my Cressi again and barrel is exactly at the middle. Aiming is more like a land gun. Maybe newer model has future that you describe, but as I stated before, mine was made in Italy and older model.
Also, can anybody explain to me how the company brand gun can be denied service just by the color of it handle. Cressi USA told me just because my handle black, it is not a Cressi gun and they don't serviced.
