World Record Yellowfin Tuna...

... and a fake apnea wetsuit or a real apena wetsuit.

A friend showed me this picture and pointed out there are two different apnea wetsuits. I am sure both are legal in their own rights but it is interesting to note that the apnea-usa company does not have a long product development history and is really piggybacking on the sucess of the Apnea that has been setting world records around the globe for many years.

So Kaku, your first post on this board is really to bash Apnea USA using WR YFT as a trojan horse?

What surprises me is that guys like Kryun , Chinny33, and Trimbandit haven't jumped on the bandwagon and written how the Hammerhead Adaptation suits are so much better (even though they and the Apnea USA suits have identical cuts) and worth the extra $100-$150.

So Austin you must wear the fake Apnea suit.

This apnea greece vs. apnea turkey has already been beat to death, two different companies. Both legal, both for sale in Europe, only one available here in the USA.

Just seems like once a month a clique of people with a personal beef with Ted post these trolls.

Apnea has been setting world records? For what?

That photo shows Stathis Kostopoulous, a member of the LA Fathomiers. He shot the fish and he got the record- the suit didn't do it. And since he was in tropical waters, I doubt very much that it mattered which brand of suit he was wearing.

There is at least some value and maybe some bragging rights to note what brand of gun a diver was using when he shot a record, but I think its a stretch to say he set the record because of the suit he was wearing.

Good point. Keep in mind we've been trained by Nike and Under Armor and Adidas to think the athletes that use their gear have some kind of advantage. Why should spearfishing be any different? It's about your game, not your gear.

I think the 7mm Apnea is $299. I bought my 7mm Hammerhead for $299 on sale at Bodega. Even at full list of $399, there is only a $100 difference, so I'm not sure where you got $150 from.

I have both suits(5mm Apnea & 7mm hammerhead) and I like both suits. I do not sell wetsuits so I could not possibly care less what wetsuit anyone else buys.

From many years of surfing, I have learned that almost any new suit is great assuming the fit is good. It takes a year or two to see how that suit will hold up.

Umm.... Cameltoeoligy?

Sorry. I must plead ignorance.
The only apnea I know of is brain cells dieing. Which is smelled differently.

Hell of a Tuna!
Poke one of them and hang on for dear life.
Lotta meat in the freezer there!

Hey Todd!
I didn't know you were a trademark attorney? That's great! There's already a few of us, and I'll always welcome another. Perhaps we can eventually write off our dive trips as CLE junkets!
Are you federally registered as well, or just stick to the marks?
Welcome aboard!

That is too funny! I've not heard that one before. Even though I've seen my share of moose. Hopefully, I'll never have to take a close look at any of their knuckles. Thanks!
