My Fishin Story

It is crazy how some things work out.....at times things happen that just blow my mind, and I never understand why or how. I am one who believes in karma, so maybe this is my explaination.

The clouds had just started to fade away, when the sun came out. The day began to become beautiful. My man and I had been fishin for about 2 hours while fighting away the sea of noseeums. We did not catch anything.....we were getting fed up, because within the last three weeks there has been a lack of fish bitting due to the red tide. But we remained calm and patient, while hoping for the best.
We tossed out our lines surrounding the boat at one of our new spots. We smoked our cigars, and started to chat. As I went to check my bait, I heard a rod bend and that was it....the rod was in the water...my man reached for it but was to late....so out of instinct I jumped in and swam after it. Once I grabbed the $180 rod I yelped with joy. Then quickly figured out that the fish was still on, so I gave it to my man. I jumped on the boat, and he gave me the honor to reel the ****er up even though it was his rod.
Pulled it in, not a very big red, but a beautiful one at that.
I was so glad I saved the rod, so I smoked victory cigar....as I went to go put my shades back on, I flipped....they were no where to be found...then it hit me, I must have jumped in with them on. I thought for sure my $200 maui jims were gone forever. But I had decided to give it a try....sure enough within five minutes I had found them.....

Karma is not always a bitch

Well written story. Your passion for all that life has to offer eminates from every word. Keep up the good work!

The photograph featuring the fish with both subjects properly posed is laudable as well; (especially since the fish ain't blockin da goodies )

Why thank you, I never saw myself as a good writer, but the compliment is always nice to hear.

Re: My Fishin Story

In all reality my man is not a , he has his limits like us all....I am very fortunate to have such a good guy.
I don't blame him for not jumping in, that water was freezin!!!
He is much wiser than I.... see he thinks before he does shit, me on the other hand, I mostly move on instinct....sometimes this is good, other times it gets me into trouble....but I will learn.
We had no clue if there was oyster beds where I jumped in, so I could have tore my ass up, but I was VERY lucky....karma.
Next time I plan to think a bit more, just in case.
