Its been a while since i have posted.... i have a couple of stories (just waiting to get the pictures from Julie) to post from the past month.

Day after Thanksgiving, Julie Riffe, her father Jay and myself headed north to Malibu in hopes of seeing/spearing some White Sea Bass. Jay said during the months of October and November the big females hang out in the kelp beds till the first storm hits and then they disappear. A week or so ago Brandon took a nice 63lbr from the Malibu beds.

The weather has been beautiful, the water viz has been great and there has been little surf....however, that was not the case for us on friday. We entered the water from the beach about 8am and kicked out to the beds. The viz was terrible...6-8 feet and cleared up a bit in the deeper water to 10-15ft. The water was very cold and restricted our day to just a few hours.

There was alot of bait.... big top smelt and lots of sardines... but no fish. We saw a few decent calicos but none worth shooting... i saw a couple of nice Sheepshead (8lbs or so) but obviously they are off limits.

For Jay and Julie it was a disappointing dive, but for me it was a memorable day. I got to dive with a couple of legends and to me that was better then getting any fish.

yup, its that cold!!! its in the mid to high 50's ...we dove in our 5mm's and got pretty cold.... may have to bust out the 7mm. The fish are there.

This is for the chinese jet pilot...Rick "porkchop express" Dawg.. this WSB was taken about 20 minutes after Julie, Jay and myself exited the water in the same location we were diving.... and yes, there are bigger fish there.... its just that no one is talking about it to obviously keep everyone away. Tim Stewart nailed this beauty...it was 67 lbs!! nice toad

what kind of gun set ups you use in the malibu area, im most likely going to pepperdine university there next fall and was wondering what kind of spearing i can do up there...

PV- Spearo.....LOL LOL LOL...B i am still laughing my a$$ off from the Dragon Swim. When you Pee'd on your buddy.....all over his head, face and mouth...lol..i am still weak..ahahahahahahaha.

whats up that idiot lesbo you were all over? get any? i can't stand that chick. she acts like such an idiot...she is not well liked by many of spearo's (well, i don't know how many but definately do not bring her name up in front of Jackie Riffe!!!)

Guns for Malibu.....basically whatever you want... it varies... i use a MT3 with reel for low vis and then i use my MT5 with breakaway for good viz. Whatever does the job.

Brandon, lemmie know when you head out again... i wanna meet up with ya....just make sure you take a leak before i get there...lol.

Porkchop (R Dawg) just email me with your schedule...i probably wont be able to do much till after New Years.
