Armageddon? Asteroid Near Misses x2

Despite mass hysteria on the internet blogs, these objects are not going to hit us. Check out how close they do get though.

This link shows the asteroid TU24:
http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi?sstr=2007%20TU24;orb=1

And this one shows asteroid WD5:
http://ssd.jpl.nasa.gov/sbdb.cgi?sstr=2007WD5;orb=1

Zoom in all the way and put Earth at the center. Then press >>. Pretty close calls from an astronomical perspective. Some websites say TU24 will cause earthquakes and magnetic disturbances. WD5 is now a 4% chance of hitting Mars. Don't worry though, because even if these guys don't get us this time, theres plenty of others out there behind these.

Supposedly TU24 will pass within 350,000 miles, at 3:33 EST (12:33 PST) on Jan. 29.

I’d be more worried about the spy satellite that’s going to smack into us next month.

Of coarse, the military doesn’t seem too concerned…

The latest from JPL is 0% chance of a Mars impact. That's a shame, would have been spectaculcar with all the camera gear up there right now.
