Re: Personal dive computers

As with many things in life, something that does it all is nothing more than a series of comprimises that you can live with. a computer that does free diving, scuba, and nitrox well is a comprimise, and a recipe to get bent, in my opinion.
My advice is to buy a computer that is well suited for what you plan to do the most, and when you do something else, be very carefull. I dive the nitek duo, a inexpensive two gas comp that handles deco and has set points for conservatism. I would not free dive with it under any circumstance, it would be like hauling fire wood in a yugo, it was never designed for that.
Sunto seems to be very popular among my free diving buddies, and when they scuba they use a different comp.

Re: Personal dive computers

Look at the Suunto D4. Designed for Scuba, Nitrox, with very specific Freedive functions also.
