Well, conditions are extremely spotty, from 2-10 ft, with some pretty big perch being sighted, and a few halibut over the weekend.
~mike p.s. water's cold! |

The Terrafin cholrophyll shots look really bad all along the mainland coast, and pretty bad even out at the islands.
I was considering Catalina tomorrow, but the wind forecast is pretty stiff, so together with the chance of poor vis, it hardly seems worth the money. Now I'm wondering if its even worth a short trip to check coastal spots.

Re: First trip of the year. whats happening in laguna.?
thanks for the feedback guys. me and a couple of buddies went in at scotchmans cove for the first time. awesome kelp but it was 8ft at best. and the only thing i saw was bait fish. the entry was a little rough too. now were gonna head up to woods or treasure island.

Yeah, vis along the coast has been pretty spotty. I went for a bike ride along the beach Sunday and the water looked kind of brownish green just it gets before red tide.

Yakked out to Dana today. Thought I would be a wise ass and post a picture of one of those one foot rulers from elementary school to describe the vis and just let people figure out the joke, but thought better of it.
I did not even get in, precisely because one foot was barely an exaggeration. Just got some good exercise and rays out of the deal. Last edited by Thiofjappekat; 03-25-2008 at 05:55 PM. Reason: speling |
