pretty rock

So some of the tritons and I picked up some jade a couple weeks ago and I just finished working on my first piece. Nice little father's day present, check it out...

Nice how did you polish it by hand or in a tumbler?

Re: pretty rock

Cool sounds like a lot of work. I have a bunch of small stuff I picked up at navarro river that I an going to tumble some day. I need to get down to Jade cove one of these days I would like to get a few pieces I can cut up to make some jewlery.

Re: pretty rock

Looks like serpentine, are you sure it's jade?

Re: pretty rock

Just because it doesn't scratch doesn't mean it's jade, to me it looks like serpentine. Just my 2.5 cents.

Re: pretty rock

it isn't the only reason, but a scratch test would certainly rule out serpentine since it is much softer than jade.
