Hernando 6/14 late report

We figured on a late start to avoid the ramp traffic however, there were no more than 15 trailers parked at the ramp. We headed out to 30' and were met with 10' vis and no fish. A couple more drops in some areas that we wanted to get a look at the bottom for later use and off to 50'. Ahaaa. fish and 20' vis. 1st dive in 50' I met a shark laying in the sand by our anchor but popped a couple hogs. We moved 100 yards and wow what a spot. There was an 8' ledge that I found and proceeded to pick and choose a stringer full of fish. Had a smorgasbord of mangroves, triggers and hogs. I was kind of surprised due to the fact that the largest jewfish(6'+) I have ever seen decided to keep an eye on me and my activities. I was in a hurry with one of the triggerfish and did not run the stringer through the mouth and he got me while attending to the next fish . I even knew better but I thought he was dead. We did not find the big boys this time. There were plenty of short red, gags, and a few nassau grouper(I think).

Great, thanks for the report, it sounds like heading NW is the way to go. We were HL out of PR last week vis looked to be about the same but the fish out to 35' were all small.
