Damn, they must get bigger as they go north. I've caught them in Florida, Texas, and North Carolina, but I never saw one near that big.

That's a weakfish, Bill - not a spotted sea trout. The specks can get that big, but the weakies get bigger.

Yes, I know its a weakfish. Most of the fish I caught growing up in Florida were the specs, but we did catch an occasional "silver trout." They were not close to that big though.

My bad, Bill. I should have known you'd have some experience there. You know there is a proper silver trout - Cynoscion nothus, which we call a sand trout in Florida. They fight much better than an equally sized spotted seatrout, but don't grow as big, and are yet another species.

the wet suit is really comfortable, but very fragile. The lining on tge inside is completely gone in les than a year. Are you seeing any signs of that? Not sure about the weight.

they get way bigger than that. We get an occasional slob while live lining bunker for bass.

Well, no, I didn't know that. I thought weakfish and silver trout were different names for the same fish.

It's possible that there was more than one weaks in the school, but i did see stripes on the fish that were closer to me. the vis could have been playing tricks on me though.
