Venice Report - 4 July

I came over to the gulf side for a few days of fishing / diving / shooting and ended up going diving on the 4th. We hit the M17 reef first (reef balls) and viz was probably around 10' or so... I shot one mangrove and saw a big ole jewfish down there... Second dive was on the venice reef and viz was even worse there... But tons of structure and life, so that made it worthwhile... Is it typical to have low visibility out of the sarasota / venice area? Are there better times of the year to go diving?

Watched fireworks that night from Snake Island and then headed up to the race on sunday to throw back some beers and hang out. All in all a good weekend

The viz varies off Sarasota. Last week we had 10 to 15 at M4 and then went 5 more miles offshore for 30 to 40 at the M8 Army tanks.

varies viz but I was out in 60 ft and vis was great before that 90ft was crap so bassically it varies 60ft-45 ft vis
