Give us a report on water conditions.

I plan on going down to the Marquesas Sunday for a week, and I assume it is as bad as it gets yesterday, and calming. It is as flat as a lake up here in Sarasota right now, and never even got rough. Clarity, wave height, improvements, etc, would be good and appreciated. Thanks, Steve.

Yes, I figure in a couple days it will be back to normal. I saw the NOAA conditions, but it said 3-5' here and its like a lake, and it never got rough, so I didnt know if the report from there was also a scewed one, as usual.

Re: Give us a report on water conditions.

Fay has passed by us now, the wind is coming from the NNE. Its choppy, and maybe 1-2' chop. Some 2' waves coming from the North. It was real calm and clear this morning until early afternoon,(nearshore-as it was offshore winds) then it started coming from the North and getting choppy.

Winds out of NNE, and choppy now. Hopefully it will stay clear. Dove the SPO Sat and in 118' just off the bottom, I could see the surface clearly.

Give it a week or so to clear out and get clear water.
We will have to deal with the run off from the mainland.

Re: Give us a report on water conditions.

Water at 7 mile bridge is coffee brown!

Will not get better as long as the heavy rain continues (rained on and off yesterday & poured again this morning) and wind blows (20+ SW)

I'd like to tell you it's great, but........
Wind supposed to lay down for weekend, but viz - I doubt will be very good.

Re: Give us a report on water conditions.

It looks like all of Florida has small craft advisories now. Its not blowing hard here, maybe 10 mph. We never even got a drop of rain. If the gulf stays calm, this might keep it clear. If the rain will stop everywhere else. Are you and Cindy still diving all the time? We'll have to get together some time when were down. Keep up the conditions posts! Steve and Lynn.
